KLAS Publishes CMS Payer Interoperability Vendor Guide

SALT LAKE CITY, UT, August 25, 2022 – KLAS announces the publication of a CMS Payer Interoperability Vendor Guide. The vendors included are: 1upHealth, AaNeel, Change Healthcare, Cognizant, Edifecs, Epic, Health Catalyst, HealthLX, Health Samurai, Innovaccer, Inovalon, InterSystems, Onyx Technology, Sagitec, Smile CDR, ZeOmega, and Zyter.

Joe Van De Graaff, Vice President of Digital Health and Security at KLAS, worked with Ruirui Sun, Insights Manager at KLAS and Jennifer Hickenlooper, Insights Director at KLAS to create the guide. Sun notes, “To enable patients to securely transfer their data from payer to payer as their coverage changes, new mandates dictate that CMS-regulated payers must be able to securely exchange patient data. This vendor guide is intended to help health plans and third-party administrators understand vendor technology options; it includes those vendors known to KLAS as of July 2022.”

The vendor guide includes brief summaries of how each vendor currently positions their payer interoperability solutions for the US market. The summaries provide brief descriptions from KLAS based on vendor-provided and publicly available information and do not include any KLAS validated performance data. Research into the customer experience and payers’ purchasing decisions is currently ongoing and is scheduled to publish in fall 2022.
