High-Field MR 2008

July 17, 2008

Though relatively few vendors market high-field, whole-body MR scanners, there is a large group of product options for provider organizations to consider, particularly for 1.5T MRs. This prompts a number of questions from providers regarding the high-field MR market. Which vendors deliver on their commitments? Which products deliver on the expected functionality and reliability? What are 3.0T clients saying about their investment and subsequent experience? What place does MRI have in the future? KLAS interviewed 220 healthcare provider professionals to uncover answers to these and related questions regarding the high-field MR market.

1.5T MR Vendor/Products qualifying for ranking in the study were:

  • GE Signa HDx 1.5T
  • Philips Achieva 1.5T
  • Siemens MAGNETOM Avanto 1.5T
  • Toshiba Vantage 1.5T

Early findings were also included for Hitachi Echelon 1.5T.

3.0T MR Vendor/Products qualifying for ranking in the study were:

  • GE Signa HDx 3.0T
  • Philips Achieva 3.0T
  • Siemens MAGNETOM Trio 3.0T
