Prior to the 2009 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Professional Services report, KLAS compiled Best in KLAS vendor scores based on evaluations gathered during the 13-month period prior to its publication. With the publication of the 2009 report, KLAS has changed to a 12-month reporting window to more closely align data that is published in KLAS reports with the data shown in the online performance database.

What is the difference between the Best in KLAS Awards report and the Mid-Term Performance Review?

The Best in KLAS Awards report provides vendor performance scores ranked by market segment. The Mid-Term Performance Review provides an overview of each vendor’s rated product offerings, along with their performance scores. Vendor products are not ranked in the Mid-Term Performance Review.

Data is collected from healthcare providers in IDNs, inpatient facilities, and clinics. Each vendor product or service has been categorized into a market segment where like products are compared and ranked against each other.

What is a Category Leader?

A “Category Leader” designation identifies top-rated vendor products in the Best in KLAS Awards report for each market segment.

What is “Best in KLAS”?

“Best in KLAS” is a special recognition for vendor performance in the end-of-year Best in KLAS Awards report. The highest performing vendors, as rated by their clients, in market segments that have the broadest organizational impact, receive this award in addition to being named the Category Leader. The “Best in KLAS” designation is vendor product/service specific, and is held by that vendor for a full year, until the following Best in KLAS Awards report is published. The “Best in KLAS” designation does not change with the Mid-Term Performance Review report.
