Is Market Headed toward Sole-Source Landscape?
The number of providers planning to replace their revenue cycle management (RCM) system has risen drastically. The trend toward integration and/or a sole-source solution has motivated over half (53%) of providers in the 200+ bed market to look for a new RCM—a significant increase from 2008, when 38% said they were planning on replacing their RCM system. In fact, providers considering Allscripts, Cerner, Epic, McKesson, and Siemens all mentioned enterprise integration more than any other motivator as their primary reason for considering that vendor’s RCM.
