The primary purpose of this study is to help the C-suite make a better decision from research findings based upon the input of hundreds of peers at healthcare delivery organizations with over 200 beds. Those interviewed say there are key LIS requirements and needs that differentiate the market players. For the C-suite, once the capabilities and performance of each LIS vendor are understood, a more informed analysis and decision can be made.

Laboratory (Large) products qualifying for ranking in the study were Cerner Millennium PathNet, GE Centricity Lab, McKesson Horizon Lab, Meditech C/S Lab, SCC SoftLab, Siemens Novius Lab, and Sunquest Lab. Early findings were also included for MediSolution MediLab Synergy*.

Laboratory (Community) products qualifying for ranking in the study were Antek LabDAQ, Cerner Millennium PathNet, Meditech C/S Lab, Orchard Harvest LIS, SCC SoftLab, Siemens Novius Lab, and Sunquest Lab. Early findings were also included for Aspyra CyberLAB v.7*, LabSoft LabNet*, McKesson Horizon Lab*, and MediSolution MediLab Synergy*.

Laboratory (Ambulatory) products qualifying for ranking in the study were Antek LabDAQ, Aspyra CyberLAB v.7, and Orchard Harvest LIS. Early findings were also included for Sunquest Lab*.

Specimen Collection products qualifying for ranking in the study were Cardinal Health Specimen Collection (CareFusion), Iatric Systems MobiLab, McKesson Horizon MobileCare Phlebotomy, and Sunquest Laboratory Collection Manager. Early findings were also included for Lattice MediCopia* and Siemens Patient Identification Check*.

Anatomic Pathology products qualifying for ranking in the study were Cerner CoPathPlus, Cerner Millennium Anatomic Pathology, IMPAC PowerPath Anatomic Pathology, Meditech C/S Anatomical Pathology, Psyche WindoPath, SCC SoftPath, and Sunquest CoPath.

Blood Bank products qualifying for ranking in the study were Sunquest Blood Bank, Wyndgate SafeTrace Tx, Cerner Millennium Blood Bank, SCC SoftBank, and Mediware HCLL. Early findings were also included for McKesson Horizon Blood Bank* and Meditech C/S Blood Bank*.
