The Path of Least Resistance
In 2012, the “push” of meaningful use and the “pull” of accountable care have moved patient portals from a behind-the-scenes role and into the lime light. For an early look at the patient portal landscape, KLAS interviewed 104 providers about which solutions are being used or considered and what role they play on the healthcare stage. Respondents included a mix of health systems, hospitals, and clinics. The majority of interviewed providers—57%—already have a patient portal solution in place, including systems from Cerner, Epic, Intuit Health, Jardogs, MEDSEEK, NextGen, and RelayHealth.
